Sea Kayaking in the Wilderness of Northern Norway

Northern Norway is a must for sea kayakers. When you’re surrounded by high rock faces and see the waterfalls roaring into the sea, well, then you truly feel small and humble.

The route will take us to the steep landscape of Nordfjord where the second largest glacier in Norway, i.e. Svartisen, hangs over the mountain face. From there we will travel onwards through a labyrinth of islands along the Helgeland coast.

A Tour for the Experienced Kayaker

The tour will proceed between islands and smaller islets. The characteristic features of these islands are sandy beaches and the Mediterranean green of the water. As some of the islands are still inhabited we will also catch a glimpse of the cultural history and life of this rugged region.

During portions of the tour we will paddle through exposed nature and intermittently lack shelter against wind and other weather conditions. It is therefore necessary that you have previous experience of kayaking.

We will sleep in tents and all participants will prepare their own food.
