Sea Kayaking in Finland 2008. The archipelagic seas of south-western Finland offer open waters and multitudes of islands.
With a little bit of luck we might even see golden eagles hovering above us.
The adventure will start and begin in Nagu, a village in the archipelago about two hours from Helsinki by bus. There is a bus connection to Nagu from either Helsinki or Turku. It is but a short distance from Nagu to the outer regions of the ArchipelagicNational Park, which was established in 1983.
This tour will be suitable for those who have tried sea kayaking, but now wish to experience the more exposed regions of the archipelago under sound guidance and supervision.
As the National Park in the archipelago offers many alternatives, I haven’t yet settled on an exact route. We will paddle for five days between 3-8 hours per day. After this, we will have enough time left to pitch our camp, prepare food and enjoy the surrounding nature.
In July the days here are long with light slowly melting into the night. I think this is in many ways the finest season for a visit to the archipelago.
