Winter Hillwalking in Scotland 2008
During the Scottish winter the mountains and their glittering peaks lie covered in snow. In order to hike safely in such terrain crampons and ice axes are needed. This is a course/tour for those who are familiar with mountain walking in summertime but wish to learn how to master mountain walking in Scottish winter conditions.
We will learn how to use crampons and ice axes as well as acquire knowledge about avalanche awareness and winter navigation. A challenging week which will reward us with new skills and memorable days in the mountains |
